California Man Admits to Meth Trafficking Following Federal Investigation

CAMDEN, N.J. — A Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Newark, FBI Philadelphia and U.S. Postal Inspection Service Philadelphia investigation led to a California man admitting his role in a narcotics conspiracy involving approximately 1.9 kilograms of a substance containing methamphetamine.

Aaron Joseph, 41, of Los Angeles, California, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine at the at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Camden April 30.

“This plea resulted from our determination to fight the scourge of methamphetamine being trafficked in our communities nationwide,” said HSI Newark acting Special Agent in Charge William S. Walker. “Through seamless cooperation, our team of federal investigators and prosecutors worked together to bring Mr. Joseph to justice. It is critically important we continue to keep our communities safe by holding anyone involved in the distribution of illicit substances accountable for their actions.”

According to the investigation, from October 2020 through July 2022, Joseph participated in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He shipped packages of methamphetamine from California to conspirators in Camden County, and his co-conspirators distributed it in southern New Jersey. Joseph received payment for the shipments via Cash App. On Feb. 14, 2022, Joseph shipped a package containing 5,100 pills from California to New Jersey. The pills contained methamphetamine and weighed approximately 1.9 kilograms.
