Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers was in Belgium today where he joined U.S. Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole in Brussels to participate in a Ministerial meeting on Foreign Fighters in Syria, with European counterparts, hosted by Belgian Interior Minister Joëlle Milquet.

On Sept. 26-27, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers will travel to New York and Canada. On Sept. 26, Acting Secretary Beers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Acting Commissioner Thomas Winkowski will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to inspect border security operations and receive operational briefings from CBP and U.S. Coast Guard employees in the region. Later that day, Acting Secretary Beers will travel to Montréal.
