Commercial Facilities Sector Training

The Department of Homeland Security has developed an array of cross-sector and sector-specific training courses and resources, which are available to public and private sector partners at no cost. The Web-based and classroom courses provide government officials and critical infrastructure owners and operators with the knowledge and skills needed to implement critical infrastructure security and resilience activities. Additional training courses are available on the Training Programs for Infrastructure Partners.

IS-906 - Workplace Security Awareness: This online training provides guidance to individuals and organizations on how to improve security in the workplace.

IS-907 - Active Shooter: What You Can Do: This course was developed to provide the public with guidance on how to prepare for and respond to active shooter situations.

IS-912 Retail Security Awareness - Understanding the Hidden Hazards: This online training increases awareness for those involved in commercial retail operations of the actions they can take to identify and report suspicious purchases or thefts of products that could be used in terrorist or other criminal activities.

Bombing Prevention Training: The Department offers training to state, local, and private sector partners to enhance awareness of terrorist threats to the nation’s critical infrastructure. Workshops and courses educate participants on strategies for detecting and mitigating these threats.

Critical Infrastructure Learning Series: The Learning Series allows the Department to provide information and online seminars on current and emerging critical infrastructure topics to critical infrastructure owners and operators, government entities, and other partners.
