As Special Agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), James Kanatzar has been instrumental in more than 100 child pornography/distribution investigations over the course of his 22-year career. Recently, Special Agent Kanatzar arrested and helped in the successful prosecution of two individuals involved in the production and distribution of child pornography.
In April 2011, the U.S. Attorney’s Office presented Special Agent Kanatzar with the Crystal Kipper and Ali Kemp Memorial Award for his service to crime victims and for his daily work to protect children from exploitation and ensure that those responsible are prosecuted.
Special Agent Kantazar’s work is part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE initiative to protect children from sexual predators. Since 2003, ICE has arrested approximately 12,000 individuals as a result of Operation Predator.
The largest investigative arm of DHS, ICE prevents terrorist and criminal activity by targeting the people, money and materials that support terrorist and criminal organizations.
