Since joining the San Juan Field Office three years ago, Roberto Cintron has played a key role in establishing a USCIS presence within San Juan and U.S. Virgin Islands while forging partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and working closely with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations in San Juan.
Through these partnerships, Cintron has helped lead the efforts to close numerous national security related cases on behalf of USCIS, as well as the arrest and prosecution of several individuals involved in FBI criminal and terrorism related investigations. Cintron has been recognized by the FBI for his assistance in their investigations.
As the acting USCIS Field Director for the San Juan Field Office, Cintron is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the San Juan field office, including oversight of immigration benefits. USCIS strengthens the security and integrity of the immigration system by providing effective customer-oriented immigration benefit and information services to customers, granting immigration and citizenship benefits, promoting awareness and understanding of citizenship, and combating immigration fraud.
