Guam Visa Waiver Program

As of  November 28, 2009, U.S. immigration law applies to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program is in effect. Until then, the Guam Visa Waiver Program was in operation.

An alien could have been admitted into Guam under the Guam Visa Waiver Program if the alien:

• wais classifiable as a visitor for business or pleasure;
• was solely entering and staying on Guam for a period not to exceed 15 days;
• was in possession of a round-trip nonrefundable and nontransferable transportation ticket bearing a confirmed departure date not exceeding 15 days from the date of admission to Guam;
• was in possession of a completed and signed Guam Visa Waiver Information Form (CBP Form I-736);
• waived any right to review or appeal of an immigration officer’s determination as to the admissibility of the alien at the port of entry into Guam;
• waived any right to contest, other than on the basis of an application for asylum, any action for deportation of the alien.

Countries

The following countries or geographic areas were members of the Guam Visa Waiver Program, which is no longer in effect:

• Australia
• Brunei
• Indonesia
• Japan
• Malaysia
• Nauru
• New Zealand
• Papua New Guinea
• Republic of Korea (South Korea)
• Singapore
• Solomon Islands
• Taiwan (Residents who begin travel in Taiwan and fly to Guam without an intermediate layover or stop en route)
• United Kingdom (including citizens of Hong Kong)
• Vanuatu
• Western Samoa

This list of countries and geographic areas ceased to apply when the new Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program came into effect on November 28, 2009.
