Science and Technology and First Responders

The Department's Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate supports the work of first responders to further the security of our nation. The S&T Directorate mission is to use science and technology to reduce our vulnerability to terrorism, minimize damage from natural or man-made threats and find solutions to help first responders make critical decisions with relevant, timely and accurate information.

The S&T Directorate is interested in working with First Responders to develop technologies that can help first responders on the job. Further, the S&T Directorate encourages first responders to submit ideas for technology development through the Tech Solutions Program or the First Responder Capstone Integrated Product Team. First responders can also search the Responder Knowledge Database for a list of currently available technologies.
