- Explosive Detection Dog Teams
The mission of the Explosive Detector Dog (EDD) Teams is the protection of life and property and providing a strong visible and psychological deterrence against criminal and terrorist acts. Prior to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the FPS had a minimal program of 10 EDD Teams located in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. Since that time, the FPS EDD program has expanded to more than 60 teams nationwide. - Federal Air Marshals (TSA)
Federal Air Marshals work across several law enforcement organizations, and in the air, they blend in with airline passengers and rely on their extensive training to protect the flying public. - Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC)
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center offers consolidated interagency law enforcement training to over 80 federal agencies, as well as agencies on the state, local, and international levels. - Fraud Investigation (Secret Service)
The Secret Service's investigative priority is to safeguard nationwide payment and financial systems, a mission which includes the fight against counterfeiting, financial fraud, and forged identity documents. - National Fugitive Operations Program (ICE)
The National Fugitive Operations Program's primary mission involves the apprehension and deportation of fugitive aliens from the United States, especially those who have been convicted of crimes, and the program also provides information to local teams around the country. - Operation Community Shield (ICE)
Operation Community Shield is a nationwide initiative that targets violent transnational street gangs, by partnering with U.S. and foreign law enforcement agencies at all levels, and making use of its authority to deport criminal aliens. - Protective Investigations Program
The Protective Investigations Program was established in early 2004, to ensure the safety of Department and Federal Protective Service protectees and facilities. The objective of the program is to prevent an attack on persons and facilities designated as FPS protectees. - Protective Mission (Secret Service)
