DHS Announces Chile’s Designation Into the Visa Waiver Program

Today, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, joined by Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Heather Higginbottom, Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno and Chilean Ambassador Felipe Bulnes, announced the designation of Chile into the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)—streamlining travel for thousands of eligible Chilean passport holders, while maintaining strong security standards.

Acting Secretary Beers Participates in Special Naturalization Ceremony

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers today was joined by White House Cabinet Secretary and Assistant to the President Danielle Gray and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas to welcome 25 new U.S. citizens at a special naturalization ceremony held at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History.

DHS Announces Grant Allocation for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Preparedness Grants

As part of the Department of Homeland Security’s ongoing efforts to support state, local, tribal, and territorial partners, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano today announced final allocations for seven FY 2013 DHS preparedness grant programs, including the Homeland Security Grant Program.
