Federal Preparations: Ike Threatens Florida, Heads Towards Gulf

The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in close communication with its partners in federal, state, tribal and local governments as Hurricane Ike is expected to impact southern Florida early in the week before progressing into the Gulf of Mexico later in the week.
