FEMA Begins Referring Families to HUD for Temporary Disaster Housing Program

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on November 1st will begin implementing its temporary disaster housing program to assist families displaced by Hurricanes Ike and Gustav. In anticipation of the start date, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has given the names of more than 6,500 eligible families to HUD which will provide temporary housing assistance until March 2010. HUD, FEMA Include Hurricane Gustav Families To Housing Assistance Program To Begin November 1st

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that families who were affected by Hurricane Gustav will also be eligible to receive temporary rental payments and case management services. Families displaced by Gustav will be eligible for the Disaster Housing Assistance Program (DHAP), which will also be utilized by thousands of other families impacted by Hurricane Ike. Slated to begin November 1, 2008, DHAP-Ike will help these families find intermediate housing as they rebuild their lives. Read more

Hud Y Fema Anuncian Un Programa De Asistencia De 18 Meses Para Vivivienda Para Familias Desalojadas Por El Huracán Ike

El Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano de los EE.UU. Preston Announces Disaster Assistance for Louisiana
