"Dr. Brown"
USCIS conducted a special naturalization ceremony last week for a man we’re referring to as Dr. Brown. Why was the ceremony so special, and why aren’t we using his real name? Well, Dr. Brown is the first nonimmigrant to become a citizen of the United States under the pilot Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI) program. MAVNI allows nonimmigrants to enlist in the Army and apply for citizenship even though they do not hold permanent resident status. So, Dr. Brown was the first, and his story is pretty incredible.
For starters, and as we already mentioned, that’s not actually his name; it’s a pseudonym used at the Army’s request to protect his family still in Pakistan. Dr. Brown, who qualified for the MAVNI program as a licensed medical professional, is also fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi. He originally came to the U.S. on a student visa and later received a temporary visa to work as a dentist. He is the first member of his family to become a U.S. citizen, and the first to serve in the U.S. military. More impressive firsts.
USCIS and DHS worked with the Defense Department before the Army launched the pilot program to enlist up to 1,000 non-citizens earlier this year. USCIS continues to work with the Army to expedite possessing of naturalization applications from non-citizens joining the Army through this pilot program.
Dr. Brown told us he was not only impressed with USCIS’ efficiency in processing his application in less than a month, but that he was extremely honored to become a citizen of the United States – he said it was the best day of his life.
Dr. Brown: Welcome.

So not only do we pay people money to kill for us (as paid staff in our "volunteer" military), we'll trade citizenship for military labor? I guess it beats convincing more of our own people to stick out their necks to protect the way-of-life of the superwealthy.
"Hey, don't fit the typical rules for immigration and want in? Help us wage another war of aggression and we'll let you in -- anonymously, if you like."
Congratulations to "Dr. Brown" for side-stepping our normal immigrations procedure and ending his stint as a mercenary in the most expensive military in history.

I want to comment on Secretary Napolitano's subliminal messages! These are comments and declarations by her that I suppose, are meant to draw us all into the governement's way of thinking by merely repeating government rhetoric (propaganda).
I take strong offense to statements by Napolitano that for instance, suggest that we all consider neighboring Mexico to be our bosom buddy. Furthermore, she seems to think WE ALL AGREE with a concept of simplified pathways to CITIZENSHIP. While it might be considered a generous, thoughtful and kind gesture to expedite the privilege of U.S. citizenship for folks who have followed the rules, filled out the paperwork, paid the fees and are waiting in line, I THINK MOST OF US WOULD BE DEAD-SET AGAINST SUCH A "PERK" FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS!
Until Mexico cleans up it's own terrible government and takes real action against the continuing flow of illegal aliens, drugs and various contraband across our southern border, I sure don't consider that country any kind of ally or "friend."
I don't believe for an instant that the U.S. is the major source of weapons-smuggling into Mexico...and what does move, north to south is with the blessing of our very own government.
Ms. Napolitano is NOT an elected official, she is NOT a lawmaker nor is it her job to write or create new laws. Primarily, she needs to ENFORCE our immigration law, prosecute employers, fund the U.S. Border Patrol Agency, apprehend illegal aliens and repatriate them to their countries of origin (deport)!
In closing, I'd like to emphasize the total lack of empathy by Janet Napolitano in her failure to attend border agent Robert Rosas's memorial service. He was brutally murdered on her watch. Rosas gave his life because of her mismanagement and our government's lack of funding for the U.S. Border Patrol!
