Welcoming the New Cybersecurity Coordinator
Howard has demonstrated the ability to work across government regardless of party, and across industry, for many years. He helped establish the Information Technology – Information Sharing and Analysis Center, served on the President’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Board , has held key security positions in several private sector companies, has personally investigated cases and until recently continued to serve as an agent in a reserve capacity for the Army Criminal Investigations Division. It is hard to find someone in the cybersecurity community with whom Howard has not worked.
I and we look forward to continuing to work with Howard and his great team at the White House.
Phil

Welcome Mr Schmidt!
I am glad that President Obama has identified Cyber Security as a priority for defending our Cyber assets. USA has always been a pioneer in all technological innovations including Cyber World, we define standards that rest of the world relies upon.
This is going to be a very challenging job because technology and infrastructure changes everyday and so does threats. Good Luck.

I've got a question for the village idiot, Napolitano. What kind of system do you run that it "works" when a known terrorist - on a watch list - is allowed to board an airplane headed for the United States with a bomb taped to his leg?
If not for pure luck and the actions of one Dutch passenger, your "system" would have allowed the murder of dozens of innocent people.

President Obama should fire Napolitano for her ineffectiveness and inept handling of our Nations security. She should go back to Brooklyn and make pizza.

Ignore the ACLU and their blabber about being politically correct and all that other junk. We need to realize that there is ONE group of people that mean to do us harm. Racial or any other type of profiling of these people is the only way to keep our country safe from terrorists. Send the members of the ACLU to Yemen, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to fight the terrorists then they will understand what we are fighting for. We need to get tough, NOW. Short of sealing our borders and becoming an isolationist country we need to act against these people in their homeland before they get here. There are a lot of other countries that hate us now, so what. I say play the game to win. Do what we did to Japan in WWII. It ended the war real quick. So what if other countries hate us. We will survive without them. In a few years, they will all be thanking us. People have to come to the realization that we are at war and civilians die in war. You can't pick and choose who you are going to eliminate. If they want war we should bring them a war, one that they or anyone else who defies us will never forget.
