“Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will travel to Madrid and Vienna on June 30-July 1 to meet with her international counterparts to discuss collaborative efforts between the United States and its partners to effectively share information while protecting individual privacy, strengthen the security of the global supply chain, and combat terrorism and other transnational threats. In Madrid, Secretary Napolitano will join her counterparts from France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the UK (“G6+1”) to discuss the United States’ continued efforts to strengthen security while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. In Vienna, she will also deliver remarks to the Annual Security Review Conference at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and meet with Austrian and international officials to underscore the Obama administration’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation with our international partners to prevent the exploitation of the global trade and travel flows by terrorist organizations and transnational criminal networks and to build capacity around the world. More details on the trip will be released once they are finalized.”
