Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano today spoke with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan to express her condolences and offer any support necessary in the ongoing investigation into the shooting in Aurora, Colo. Secretary Napolitano reiterated the Administration’s support for the federal, state and local authorities who responded to this horrific event and the people of Aurora during this difficult time.

“I am deeply saddened by the terrible shooting in Aurora, Colorado. Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies continue to respond to this horrific event and I have directed the Department of Homeland Security to provide any support necessary in the ongoing investigation. We are committed to bringing those responsible to justice. Our hearts and prayers go out to anyone impacted by this tragedy, especially the family and friends of those killed or injured.”

Secretary Napolitano's Visit to Brazil

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Acting Commissioner David V. Aguilar and Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Alan Bersin today traveled to Brazil where they met with international counterparts to discuss joint efforts to combat human trafficking, enhance aviation and global supply chain security, and facilitate legitimate trade and travel.
