Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson today traveled to Douglas and Tucson, Ariz. where he joined with border security personnel to tour Arizona border operations, received briefings on the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) efforts to secure the border while facilitating lawful travel and trade, and met with local ranchers and community leaders.

On Sept. 19-20, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers will travel to Texas and Mexico. On Sept. 19, Acting Secretary Beers will travel to McAllen, Texas to inspect border security operations, meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees in the region, and receive a briefing on the Administration’s efforts in securing the nation’s border and combating narcotics and weapons smuggling, while facilitating lawful travel and trade.

Acting Secretary Beers Participates in Special Naturalization Ceremony

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers today was joined by White House Cabinet Secretary and Assistant to the President Danielle Gray and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas to welcome 25 new U.S. citizens at a special naturalization ceremony held at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History.
