Requirements and Acquisition Support Branch

Federal Network Resilience's Requirements and Acquisition Support (RAS) branch supports the strategic prevention of attacks against federal civilian executive branch networks.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) designated DHS as the Managing Partner Agency of the Information Systems Security Line of Business (ISSLoB). RAS manages the daily operations of ISSLoB  in order to address common challenges faced by all federal agencies.

Mission

RAS champions many cross-agency activities that contribute to creating a secure and resilient cyber environment. For example, RAS:

  • facilitates information exchange and supports government-wide cybersecurity initiatives;
  • assists in requirements development and acquisition support for investments of security solutions, technologies, and processes;
  • delivers common security solutions through government Shared Service Centers (SSCs) and government-wide acquisition programs;
  • monitors SSC performance; and
  • manages the daily operations of the ISSLoB Program Management Office.

Information Systems Security Line of Business

The Information Systems Security Line of Business (ISSLoB) was created in 2005 to improve the level of information systems security across government by eliminating duplicative efforts, increasing aggregate expertise, and enhancing the overall security posture of the federal government. SSCs support this value proposition by consolidating acquisitions and standardizing agency practices.

ISSLoB is currently addressing four common information systems security needs across the government:

  • Security Awareness Training
  • FISMA Reporting
  • Situational Awareness and Incident Response (SAIR)
  • Security Solutions Lifecycle Certification & Accreditation Services (C&A)

ISSLoB addresses these security needs through the service offerings of the SSCs and the government-wide procurements of security-related services. These ISSLoB designated SCCs offers:

  • Security Awareness Training
  • FISMA Reporting
  • Certification & Accreditation Services

ISSLoB Product Acquisitions

  • SAIR Tier I:
    • Network Mapping & Discovery
    • Vulnerability Scanning
    • Baseline Configuration Management
  • SAIR Tier II:
    • Data Flow Analysis
    • SIEM Tools
    • End Point Protection
    • Web Application Firewall

ISSLoB Industry Services Acquisitions

  • Certification & Accreditation
