WASHINGTON—Today, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson met with important stakeholders from across the country to discuss the need for commonsense immigration reform, and hear firsthand their comments and perspective on a wide range of immigration issues.

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers today traveled to Texas and Mexico. This morning, Acting Secretary Beers visited McAllen, Texas to inspect border security operations, meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees in the region, and receive briefings on the Administration’s efforts in securing the nation’s border and combating narcotics and weapons smuggling, while facilitating lawful travel and trade.
