On Sept. 26-27, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers will travel to New York and Canada. On Sept. 26, Acting Secretary Beers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Acting Commissioner Thomas Winkowski will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to inspect border security operations and receive operational briefings from CBP and U.S. Coast Guard employees in the region. Later that day, Acting Secretary Beers will travel to Montréal.

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers today traveled to Texas and Mexico. This morning, Acting Secretary Beers visited McAllen, Texas to inspect border security operations, meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees in the region, and receive briefings on the Administration’s efforts in securing the nation’s border and combating narcotics and weapons smuggling, while facilitating lawful travel and trade.
