State and major urban area fusion centers serve as focal points within the state and local environment for the receipt, analysis, gathering, and sharing of threat-related information between the federal government and state, local, tribal, territorial (SLTT) and private sector partners.

DHS Announces Grant Guidance for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Preparedness Grants

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano today announced the release of FY 2013 Funding Opportunity Announcements for eight U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) preparedness grant programs totaling over $1.5 billion to assist states, urban areas, tribal and territorial governments, non-profit agencies, and the private sector in strengthening our nation’s ability to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies in support of the National Preparedness Goal and the National Preparedness System.
