This roll call video, the second of a two-part series, explores the role placed upon non-federal law enforcement officials when a victim of human trafficking applies for long-term immigration relief, such as a T visa or U visa application. Officers may be required to certify, in writing, that the victim assisted in the detection, investigation, or prosecution of the crime. Featured are a panel of experts from local law enforcement, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services who describe T and U visas and specifically addresses the issues surrounding the certification process.
