Entry-Level Career Opportunities

The Department offers talented new professionals flexible work schedules, student loan repayment and tuition reimbursement programs, and more in a generous benefits package.

  • Acquisition Professional Career Program is a new entry-level program for college graduates designed to develop future Department acquisition leaders for the more than $20 billion worth of goods and services annually in support of the Department's mission, the third largest procurement budget in the federal government.

     
  • DHS Honors Fellowship Program is a two-year paid opportunity for a handful of exceptional graduates from the nation's best graduate programs.

  • Legal Honors Program, a two-year rotational assignment through various components of the Department, provides highly qualified new attorneys (and recent law graduates completing judicial clerkships or fellowships) with the opportunity to start their legal careers at the Department, enhancing their skills and gaining hands-on experience working on some of the most critical and controversial issues facing our nation today.

  • The Office of Intelligence & Analysis Federal Career Intern Program offers paid internships, in either full- or part-time positions. Upon successful completion, interns may be eligible for permanent placement.

  • The Pat Roberts Intelligence Scholars Program (PRISP), offered through the Office of Intelligence & Analysis, is designed to recruit and train entry-level intelligence professionals.

  • Presidential Management Fellows (PMF), designed for graduate-level students, aims to attract to the federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs.
