Today is Chad Boudreaux’s last day as my Deputy Chief of Staff at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Chad has been a wise and trusted counselor, who has provided critical thinking, energy and leadership to many of the department’s highest priorities.

Chad has been especially instrumental in advancing the department’s border and immigration security agenda. He helped to formulate the comprehensive strategy that is now working at our borders, including ending the old practice of catch and release, deterring illegal migration and working with interagency partners to increase criminal prosecutions. Chad also worked closely with key law enforcement component agencies like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to support them in carrying out their vital missions.

I am grateful for Chad’s service and dedication to the department, and thank him for his lasting contributions to America’s security, both during his time at DHS and in his previous tenure at the Department of Justice. I will miss Chad personally and professionally, and wish him well in his future endeavors.
