The Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and State (DOS) today announced the appointments of Dr. Jared L. Cohen, President of Carnegie Mellon University, as Chair of the Secure Borders and Open Doors Advisory Committee (SBODAC), and John Chen, Chairman, CEO, and President, Sybase Inc., as Co-Chair of the SBODAC. The SBODAC is a subcommittee of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.
Also announced were the following appointments to the SBODAC:
The SBODAC includes experts from the tourism industry, health care, academia and the private sector, and will provide advice and recommendations to DHS and DOS on efforts to maintain security while increasing the welcoming nature of those who visit our country.
The SBODAC is holding its inaugural meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Washington, DC. Committee members will be joined by two expert panelists, Mr. Tom Donohue, President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Susan Ginsburg, Visiting Fellow at the Migration Institute.
