Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge is pleased to announce his intention to appoint Pamela Turner of Virginia to serve as the Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security.  Ms. Turner is currently the Senior Vice President for Government Relations at the National Cable and Telecommunications Association in Washington, D.C.  Prior to joining the private sector, she was the Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs at the White House from 1981 - 1989 and a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill from 1968 -1981.
