Secretary Tom Ridge Names Arizona Native as Advisor

Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Davis as the Director of the Academe and Policy Research Senior Advisory Committee (APRSAC), a part of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.  

Mr. Davis previously served as the Chancellor of Eastside Christian Schools in Southern California.  Concurrent to his service with Eastside, Mr. Davis served as the President for Raison, an international non-governmental organization dedicated to economic and democratic development.  Mr. Davis founded Raison (formerly the Educational Placement Organization) in 1994.  

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. Davis graduated from Hope International University with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Social Science and Finance.  He holds two Masters Degrees: a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and a Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific University.  

The Homeland Security Advisory Council is comprised of experts from state and local governments, first preventer and responder communities, academia and the private sector, and provides advice and recommendations to Secretary Ridge on homeland security issues.  The Director of the Academe and Policy Research Senior Advisory Committee provides strategic management of the APRSAC and serves as an advisor to Secretary Ridge.
