U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Information Analysis Patrick Hughes today announced his resignation effective March 15, 2005.

“Lieutenant General Patrick Hughes (U.S. Army-Retired) has led a distinguished career, including 35 years of service in the United States Army. As the Assistant Secretary for Information Analysis, General Hughes has been instrumental in bringing together a functional and effective intelligence unit within the Department and establishing new ways to share intelligence information and collaborate with our partners at the federal, state and local level. His well-respected leadership and experience in national security effectively solidified DHS’ standing as a strong partner in the Intelligence Community,” said Homeland Security Deputy Secretary James Loy.
