Pam Turner has announced her resignation as Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, effective the end of May. Pam has been the department’s ambassador to the House and Senate since day one. She has earned deep respect among Congressional members and staff for her sharp intellect, tremendous professionalism and genuine candor.
I have relied heavily on Pam for trusted counsel on several of the top issues facing the department. She was invaluable to our work with Congress on priorities like the Second Stage Review, Secure Border Initiative and retooling FEMA. Pam was also a primary architect for building a structure at the department, and among component agencies, for maintaining strong ties with Congress on day-to-day activities and long-term planning.
I am grateful to Pam for her service to our country and for her lasting role in helping to stand up the department.
