Top Screen Submittal for Fuels (Except Propane): Question 3

3. Is the release-flammable mixture NFPA 4?

  • If Yes, Complete the Top-Screen for the release-flammable mixture by entering the total weight of the mixture. If there is more than one chemical of interest in the release-flammable mixture, the entire weight of the mixture shall be entered next to the chemical of interest with the highest percentage in the mixture in the Top-Screen questionnaire.  Also, enter the weight of any non-release-flammable chemicals of interest above its screening threshold quantity and also the type and total weight of the fuel.
    • Example: 10,000 lbs of 40% hydrogen, 60% methane mixture and 2,000 lbs of diesel.
      You have completed this process.
  • If No, Complete the Top-Screen for the release-flammable mixture by entering the total weight of the release-flammable chemicals of interest. If there is more than one chemical of interest in the release-flammable mixture, the entire weight of the release-flammable chemicals of interest shall be entered next to the chemical of interest with the highest percentage in the mixture in the Top-Screen questionnaire. Also, enter the weight of any non-release-flammable chemicals of interest above its screening threshold quantity and also type and total weight of the fuel.
    • Example: 40,000 lbs of 35% hydrazine, 65% water mixture and 4,000 lbs of diesel.
