  • SVIP SSCVT Industry Day

    On July 14, 2022, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. PT, the Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) in partnership with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency  (CISA), will host a virtual Industry Day to discuss the newly released Software Supply Chain Visibility Tools topic call. 

     

  • HSSS 22 Converge

    On Wednesday, July 13 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. ET, Homeland Security Startup Studio (HSSS) will host a virtual Converge event to showcase the program finalists’ pitches for the cutting-edge technologies they have worked to advance over the past 18 weeks.  Conducted in partnership with the venture-building company FedTech, HSSS brings together entrepreneurs, mentors, and inventors to accelerate and commercialize federally funded technologies that meet homeland security needs. 

  • Future of Flood Insurance Evaluation

    Flooding continues to be an important concern due to an increase in the number of flooding events and the associated personal and financial costs borne by residents and communities across the country. Multiple independent studies have reached the same conclusion: flooding causes more death and destruction than any other natural disaster. Recognizing the impact of these studies, the DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is conducting evaluation research to better understand threats to public safety following flooding.

    The HSAC has been tasked with creating a subcommittee called the Disinformation Best Practices and Safeguards Subcommittee. They will create a written report for the Secretary's review upon their completion of studying the topic.

  • FINAL Environmental Assessment for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Testing at Multiple Sites

    The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate (S&T) proposes to test C-UAS capabilities to detect, track, identify, and mitigate (DTI-M) small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). Five geographical testing areas are being considered in this Environmental Assessment (EA): Niagara Falls and Buffalo, New York; the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area; Northeastern West Virginia; National Capital Region (NCR), Washington, D.C.; and Richmond, Virginia.

  • Military Spouse Opportunities

    The Department is hiring qualified military spouses to fill various Department of Homeland Security positions. To be considered, applicants must meet one of the three military spouse hiring authority eligibility requirements as well as the qualifications for the position.
