The holiday season is upon us, and all around the country, Americans are preparing to cherish and celebrate the wonderful holiday traditions and festivities of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. As we gather with family and friends, visit our places of worship, and indulge in this brief respite, it is important to remember all of our continued blessings.
While reflecting upon the many blessings of this year, I count you—the DHS workforce—among them. Public service is a calling, and it is colleagues of your caliber who can, and do, make a difference. Your motivation to fulfill our mission – particularly during this challenging year – is undeniable, your commitment remains resolute. I appreciate each of you, and your dedicated service to the Department and the American people.
Although our gatherings may look a little different this year, I hope each of you have joyful, safe, and memorable celebrations with your loved ones.
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May 2021 be prosperous and healthy for us all.
