Statement by Press Secretary Sara Kuban on Secretary Napolitano's Upcoming Trip to Washington State

“Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano will travel to the state of Washington on Monday, July 27. While in Washington, Secretary Napolitano will visit the 2010 Olympics Coordination Center in Bellingham—a key site for counterterrorism and security operations leading up to and during the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver—followed by a tour of the Pacific Highway and Peace Arch border crossings between Blaine, Wash., and British Columbia, Canada. Secretary Napolitano will then travel to Seattle, where she will meet with DHS and other federal and state law enforcement officials at the U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Support Command and discuss cybersecurity, counterterrorism and immigration issues with state and local partners. More details of the trip will be released once they are finalized.”
