“The entire Department of Homeland Security extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of the nine Coast Guard and Marine Corps men and women who tragically lost their lives in the devastating accident last week off the coast of California. Their sacrifice reminds all of us of the danger and personal risk that the courageous men and women of the Department of Homeland Security and our Armed Forces confront every day as they dedicate their lives to protect our great nation. Our prayers and gratitude remain with them and their loved ones during this difficult time.”
