Statement by Deputy Press Secretary Marsha Catron on Acting Secretary Beers’ Upcoming Trip to Texas and Mexico

“On Sept. 19-20, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Rand Beers will travel to Texas and Mexico. On Sept. 19, Acting Secretary Beers will travel to McAllen, Texas to inspect border security operations, meet with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees in the region, and receive a briefing on the Administration’s efforts in securing the nation’s border and combating narcotics and weapons smuggling, while facilitating lawful travel and trade. 

On Sept. 20, Acting Secretary Beers will join Vice President Joe Biden in Mexico City, Mexico to participate in the launch of the U.S.-Mexico High Level Economic Dialogue.”
