The ICE National Pistol Team (NPT) 2017 season started off with a bang at the recent Rocky Mountain Nationals in Raton, New Mexico.
The Rocky Mountain Nationals is a Police Pistol Combat (PPC) law enforcement precision pistol shooting competition that involves each competitor firing more than 400 precision rounds each day. It consists of the New Mexico State PPC Championship, Colorado State PPC Championship and the Charlie Pirtle Memorial PPC Regional matches.
This year, the NPT — a perennial championship contender — had eight traveling agents and officers as well as eight alternates, including the first women to join the ranks of the ICE precision pistol shooting team.

The team was represented by Assistant Field Office Director and Team Captain Arlo Arcinas, Special Agent Billy Schuck, Special Agent John Dennis, Deportation Officer Patrick Elliott, Deportation Officer Elisa Garcia-Lozano and Deportation Officer Elaine Lawless.
Garcia-Lozano and Lawless joined forces to win the Classified Team Divisions, while Arcinas won the Expert Division. Together, the NPT also won the Expert Team Division.

“The ICE National Pistol Team has been and continues to be one of the top 3 teams in the nation,” Arcinas said. “Although remote and tucked away, at over 6,000 feet in elevation at the base of the Rocky Mountains, the friendly yet competitive spirit of this event is representative of the fierce competition the team will face at the upcoming National Police Shooting Championships in September. Based on their performance thus far, the ICE National Pistol Team is expected to continue its legacy as a premier top tier, precision pistol team.”
