As Deputy Assistant Secretary for Media Operations, Meira Bernstein serves as a voice for the Department of Homeland Security and ensures that the Department is effectively communicating with members of the media and the public. In this role, she also serves as an advisor to senior Department leadership and component press offices.
Ms. Bernstein brings a decade of experience in strategic communications and media relations to the Department, having served as an advisor to U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, as well as multiple corporations and non-profit organizations.
She graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History, Leadership Studies, and International Studies.
