The Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office was established in December 2017 by consolidating primarily the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, a majority of the Office of Health Affairs, as well as other DHS elements.

I Want to Buy a Bleeding Control Kit or Cabinet

A goal of the Stop the Bleed Campaign is to have Public Access Bleeding control kits become as common as fire extinguishers and AEDs in public and commercial buildings. A number of companies manufacture or market bleeding control kits for the public. DHS does not approve or endorse any particular commercial product, and we encourage you to do adequate research to determine what equipment best fits your needs.

I Want to Use the Stop the Bleed Logo

When the White House launched the Stop the Bleed campaign, the Department of Defense was tasked with managing the Stop the Bleed logo as a service marked proprietary image. All requests to use or display the STB logo should be directed to:

Can I get any Funding from the Stop the Bleed Campaign?

There is no direct funding associated with this campaign. It is intended to spur grassroots efforts at the local level. Potential sources of funding for qualifying organizations include, but are not limited to:

  • Department of Justice grants for law enforcement agencies
  • FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant (AFG) Program for fire service organizations
  • FEMA State Homeland Security Grant Program for first responders
  • Department of Education Safe Schools Grant Program for Schools
  • Local charities, endowments, and grant programs
  • Local healthcare systems community outreach and injury prevention programs

If you wish to charitably fund this training in your community, please partner with a local organization and assist however you can.
