The Criminal Investigations and Network Analysis (CINA) DHS Center of Excellence is hosting a week-long program for current and future leaders of the Minority Serving Institution community. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, and site visits, students and faculty will learn about cutting-edge issues that relate to the themes of the Center, including topics such as:
- Network Analysis
- Forensics
- Social media and analytics
- Criminology and criminal investigative processes
- Cryptocurrency and financial crime
- Cybersecurity
We are looking to select teams to participate in this year’s MSI Summer Workshop. Teams must consist of 1 early faculty member and 2 students (undergraduate/graduate). All expenses will be covered for teams selected to include airfare, lodging, per diem, etc.
To be considered for selection, teams must submit:
- CV for the early career faculty member
- Resumes for both students
- Written narrative from students on their future aspirations and why they wish to attend the MSI Summer Workshop
If there are 2 highly qualified students who are unable to apply due to no available early career faculty member, a request for an exception can be made. To apply for the exception to requirements, provide:
- Resumes for both students
- Written narrative from students on their future aspirations and why they wish to attend the MSI Summer Workshop
- A written letter of endorsement from a faculty member detailing his/her confidence in the students
Nominations are due to universityprograms@hq.dhs.gov no later than May 23, 2019. Nominations will be reviewed, and selected teams will be notified by May 30, 2019. Only teams selected for participation will be notified.
