As required by The Cybersecurity Act of 2015, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is conducting a study on threats, defenses, and best practices relating to the security of the mobile devices used by the federal government and will submit to Congress a report detailing the study’s findings and recommendations.
Through a Request for Information (RFI) call, the government is soliciting input on products, services capabilities and technologies that address threats related to the government’s use of mobile devices. Specifically, the RFI seeks the following information from the mobile and wireless industry community:
- Completing a survey about the threats and products, services or technologies relating to mobile security.
- Providing information about the standards and best practices on mobile defenses that will help mitigate mobile threats and vulnerabilities.
Responses will help the government understand the range of available products and technologies to protect the mobile ecosystem. It also will help the government identify gaps—areas that provide opportunities for industry and government researchers to collaborate on advancing technologies and/or standards.
Gain Insight into the RFI, Ask Questions and Attend an Industry Day
The S&T Cyber Security Division will hold two Industry Days to provide mobile and wireless industry researchers the opportunity to gain more insight into the RFI and ask question of the government presenters.
