The federal benefits open season runs from November 9 through December 14, 2020. It's time to review your health, dental, vision and Flexible Spending Account options to decide what plans meet you and your family's needs for the upcoming year.
Federal Employee Health Benefits
Most Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) plans will see benefits or rate changes for 2021. Refer to the Plan Comparison Tool to compare costs, benefits and features of different FEHB plans. If you wish to enroll, cancel or change your health insurance coverage, you can do so through the Employee Personal Page. You can also submit an SF 2809 Health Insurance Enrollment Form directly to your Component's benefits office (type “homeland" in the search bar at the top of the page to limit the results to DHS Components).
Dental and Vision Benefits
For the 2021 plan year, you have significantly more plan options to consider in the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Program (FEDVIP), including 13 new dental plan choices and six new vision plan choices. You can review plan options and change your enrollment on the BENEFEDS website or by calling 877-888-3337.
Flexible Spending Accounts
A flexible spending account (FSA) lets you set aside money, pre-tax, from your paycheck to pay for eligible health care or dependent care expenses throughout the plan year. FSA elections do not carry over from year to year. If you want to participate in a Health Care FSA, Limited Expense FSA, or Dependent Care FSA in 2021, you must enroll on the FSAFEDS website or call 877-372-3337.
Virtual Health Benefits Fair
This year, various health, dental and vision carriers have come together to provide a virtual health benefits fair and several live chat sessions.
Visit the virtual benefits fair to register and learn more about your benefits for the upcoming year. Representatives from all participating carriers will be available to take your questions during live chat days from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (ET) on:
