Henry Ward Beecher once said, “We should not judge people by the peak of excellence; but by the distance they have traveled from the point where they started.” All of our journeys are full of twists and turns, good decisions and bad decisions, moments of exaltation and moments of despair, and yet ultimately what we find is that no matter where we are in our journey…it is neither good or bad, but rather exactly where we are supposed to be at this point. There are grateful moments, and growth and adventures to discover; there are no missed paths and no wrong turns.
The real goal is not the destination, or the peak of excellence, rather it is to see each step along the way as equally important, equally relevant, equally needed…every experience, every person you meet, all of it helps shape who you are at this point in time. Judge none of it. Embrace all of it. Travel on!
