CBP Explorer Program

Ready to make an impact?  Click here to get startedThe CBP Explorer Program offers opportunities in character building, good citizenship, and fitness for young men and women ages 14 through 21. CBP has Law Enforcement Explorer Posts, both at ports of entry and at Border Patrol sectors, which provide Explorers with practical training and hands-on experience in federal law enforcement-related activities.

Program Length

The program is available to candidates through age 21.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered you must:

  • Be between the ages of 14 and 21.
  • Be in high school or college.
  • Maintain at least a “C” grade average.
  • Obtain parent’s or guardian's consent.
  • Have an interest in law enforcement.

Application Deadline

Applications are accepted throughout the year.

If you are interested in becoming a CBP Explorer, print out and complete the application, and mail it to the CBP Explorer Program Post Advisor located in your state.
