Interagency Security Committee Training Courses

The Interagency Security Committee (ISC), which addresses security for all federal facilities, has a variety of online and interactive training courses.

Online Training Courses

The ISC developed a series of online training courses to provide federal facility security professionals, engineers, building owners, construction contractors, architects, and the general public with basic information pertaining to the ISC and its facility security standards, processes, and practices.

IS-890a – Introduction to the Interagency Security Committee

This course presents the ISC’s history, its mission and organization, and a basic outline of the ISC Risk Management Process (RMP).

IS-891 – Interagency Security Committee: Facility Security Level Determinations for Federal Facilities (FOUO)

This course provides ISC-authorized federal personnel an overview of the process to determine the facility security level (FSL) for a federal facility.

Only individuals with a need-to-know can request access to this course. To do so, please send an e-mail to ISCAccess@hq.dhs.gov with your full name and contact information, including email, agency name, and the reason for access.

IS-892 – Physical Security Criteria for Federal Facilities (FOUO)

This course, geared toward ISC-authorized federal personnel, overviews the process for determining baseline physical security criteria and developing a list of customized countermeasures needed to protect U.S. federal nonmilitary facilities, employees, contractors, and visitors.

Only individuals with a need-to-know can request access to this course. To do so, please send an e-mail to ISCAccess@hq.dhs.gov with your full name and contact information, including email, agency name, and the reason for access.

IS-893 – Facility Security Committees

This course provides federal personnel with an overview of Facility Security Committees (FSCs), including their members, roles and responsibilities, and policies and procedures for FSC operations and decision-making.

Interactive Training Course

With growing recognition among the Federal security community that a “one-size-fits-all” approach is no longer acceptable, the ISC's Risk Management Process has come to serve as the standard for physical security within the federal government. Realizing the need to educate security personnel, the ISC RMP Training Program was formed. The ISC RMP is the first and only training program recognized and certified by the ISC to train federal security professionals in the ISC Risk Management Process. This is done through collaborative exercises and hands-on interactive instruction based on an Instructional Systems Design, a nationally recognized process. To learn more about the ISC RMP Training and how to register, please visit the Center for Leadership Development.
