Statement by Secretary Jeh C. Johnson Regarding the DHS Einstein Program

I have read the GAO report “DHS Needs to Enhance Capabilities, Improve Planning, and Support Greater Adoption of its National Cybersecurity Protection System” dated January 28, 2016.  In this report, GAO asserts that DHS’s National Cybersecurity Protection System “is partially, but not fully, meeting its stated system objectives.” 

DHS Announces Award Making Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation Tools and Services

WASHINGTON—Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson announced today that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), through the General Services Administration (GSA), has awarded three orders under the Department’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM), making CDM tools and services available to 17 additional Federal agencies. DHS has now made CDM available to 97 percent of the federal civilian government.


The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has the mission to provide a common baseline of security across the federal civilian executive branch and to help agencies manage their cyber risk.
