The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has revised its 2012 Environmental Justice Strategy and is currently accepting public recommendations. The deadline for submitting recommendations is November 1, 2020. All recommendations received by DHS from the public will be conveyed to the Environmental Justice Interagency Working Group.
SEP provides policy, guidance, training, technical support, and Departmental oversight through coordination with DHS Components and consultation with the public.

The Environmental Assessments (EAs) on this page were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) was issued.
In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), DHS has adopted two Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) prepared by the General Services Administration (GSA) for activities at the St. Elizabeth’s campus. Dr. Teresa R. Pohlman, Executive Director of Sustainability and Environmental Programs, approved the adoption of the EISs on March 30, 2016. The complete EISs are available on the project website.
