Today, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas traveled to New Orleans to participate in a series of employee engagements with Department personnel.
On Feb. 26, Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas will travel to New Orleans where he will lead an employee town hall to thank DHS personnel for their service and for responsibly implementing the Department’s various missions. Deputy Secretary Mayorkas will receive an update from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on the severe weather affecting the region. Also while in New Orleans, he will visit the Port of New Orleans for a hands-on briefing of passengers and cargo entering the port.
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson today traveled to Houston where he, along with Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, met with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) employees. Secretary Johnson reiterated his confidence in the TSA workforce and thanked them for the work they do every day to screen a record number of passengers at airports across the United States and keep the traveling public safe. Secretary Johnson also thanked TSA and CBP personnel for their efforts to maintain operations through the region’s recent severe weather.
