
Alice Lugo is the Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Previously, she served as Chief Counsel and Senior Immigration Adviser to U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and as Counsel to former U.S. House Representative Luis Gutierrez.
Before working in government, she was a supervising attorney at Ayuda, a Washington, D.C. non-profit, representing immigrant survivors of domestic violence in family and immigration law matters. She earned her law degree from Creighton University School of Law and bachelor’s degree from Creighton University.
