Scott Krause

Scott is the Executive Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where he leads the team responsible for preparing daily briefing books and processing all correspondence for the Secretary.

Scott recently served as a director at Cisco, where he led IT consulting engagements for state and local governments. He also served as a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ public sector practice, focusing on homeland security. Previously, Scott served as the DHS Chief of Staff for Management, where he provided counsel and leadership on homeland security initiatives, operations, and programs for the DHS Under Secretary for Management.

Prior to joining DHS, Scott was the Director of Staff at the U.S. Air Force’s Air and Space Expeditionary Force Center. He also previously served as the Assistant Director of Operations and a C-20/C-37 instructor pilot, commanding missions for the First Lady, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, foreign heads of state, and congressional delegations to more than 35 nations.

Scott was commissioned as a Distinguished Graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1987, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in astronautical engineering. He received his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 1995. He and his wife Pamela have two daughters.
