2020 Biennial National Strategy for Transportation Security (NSTS)

DHS, on behalf of TSA and DOT, is pleased to present the 2020 National Strategy for Transportation Security (NSTS). This report is a forward-looking, risk-based strategy designed to protect the Nation’s transportation systems from attack or disruption by terrorists or other hostile forces over the period spanning years 2020-2025. The Strategy was prepared pursuant to title 49 of the United States Code, section 114(s), which requires a biennial update.

The National Strategy for Transportation Security (NSTS) is the governing document for all federal transportation security efforts. For additional information about the NSTS, please refer to the NSTS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), also available on the DHS site.
