Incident Management Information Sharing

Body

In many situations, federal, state, local, tribal and territorial government agencies; non-governmental organizations; and private sector partners in the incident management community do not have clear direction on the most optimal ways to discover or share mission-critical information and to objectively assess their capabilities. Although there are general guidance materials available, none provide details specific to an entity’s maturity level as it relates to Incident Management Information Sharing (IMIS). The IMIS Capability Maturity Model (CMM) is being developed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) in partnership with the DHS Office of Emergency Communication’s SAFECOM program and local first responder communities.
